The SonicWALL VPN Client allows your organization to include dial-up Internet users on the SonicWALL VPN. Using the SonicWALL VPN Client, organizations can remotely manage SonicWALL Internet security appliances and link remote users via secure, cost-effective VPN tunnels. Using VPN Client, network administrators can securely and remotely manage SonicWALLs over the Internet, even without the VPN upgrade. VPN-enabled SonicWALLs support multiple VPN clients for remote network access. Once configured, the VPN client creates an encrypted tunnel to the SonicWALL, giving users access to all servers and network resources on the private LAN behind the SonicWALL. SonicWALL's VPN Client is based on the IPsec standard for VPN, so it may be used with other VPN products with the same IPsec implementation, such as Check Point FireWall-1, Cisco PIX, Nortel Contivity, and Axent Raptor. Encryption methods for the SonicWALL VPN Client include 56-bit Data Encryption Standard (DES) with HMAC-MD5 authentication.
